Lake Tahoe, April 2, 1998: Resort Records receives "WebCam of the Day" award for their Jam-Cam a fixed-position camera, feeding live images from the companys musical recording studio to their web site. With average visitations numbering over 100 each day, the feature has proven itself a successful promotional tool in the companys aggressive Internet strategy.
Defining WebCams: To the Internet's uninitiated, WebCams are likely a new concept -- live cameras tethered to a personal computer, feeding images to the Internet's World Wide Web, where they are viewed by the worlds Internet population. Popular WebCam "hangouts" range from the curiously dull to the blatantly weird. Business offices, laboratories, fish tanks, classrooms, coffee pots, ski resorts, televisions and night clubs are popping up all over the Internet. WebCam index, DCN has taken it upon themselves to evaluate and categorize each of them.
"Our staff is devoted to highlighting the best camera sites the Web has to offer, and [Resort Records' Jam-Cam] is definitely one of them. -- Jim Trascapoulos, DCN.
The Jam-Cam is located on the Internet at www.resortrex.com/studio_jamcam.htm. |
